This is the unweighted counterpart to 71747 — a disposable, 3" polyethylene bailer for large-diameter monitoring wells, without the added weight.
What it is:
A 3" diameter × 36" long polyethylene (poly) tube with a bottom check valve
Dis = disposable (single-use, no decon required)
UW = unweighted
When to choose unweighted (71749) over weighted (71747):
Shallower wells where gravity alone is sufficient to sink the bailer
Situations where the added weight could disturb fine-grained sediment at the bottom of the well and introduce turbidity into the sample
Some sampling protocols specify unweighted bailers to minimize well disturbance
Product group: WSAM (Water Sampling), Environmental business line
Same large-diameter, high-volume, disposable concept as 71747 — the choice between the two comes down to well depth and protocol requirements around well disturbance.
